Sam, we miss you here in Colorado. I can't wait to see you when you open for Wendy Woo and my friend Nina Storey. That is going to be a great night! Three amazing women singing in one night.

Gwen - Tuesday, September 30th, 2003 2:13 PM
I met Sam and saw her preform when she came to my high school. Her preformance blew me away, and I bought a CD which she so nicely signed for me. I had heard her a few times on my school radio station and liked her, which made me decide to come see her. There was a really small audience that night, which is a shame, but I had a great time.I love her monthly e-mails and that she spends time out of her touring to write about her experiances to her fans.I really hope to meet her again!

Judy Herman - Sunday, September 28th, 2003 10:41 AM
Sam, I on Friday night at 1515 Broadway in Detroit, I am the one who made you the Detroit Charm bracelet. I can't say enough how much I enjoyed your show. I want everyone to know what a great talent you are. You are destined to do great things with that voice of yours. I want you to know next to Jason's "The Eagle" the song Eldorado is my second favorite song. What a great song, everyone needs to pick up the CD and hear it.
Hope you come back to The Big D soon.
Your new fan Judy

Hey All!

I'm just here to inform you all of Edie Carey's latest piece of fantastic, "When I Was Made," which will be released August 26th!!!

As Edie is a nationally touring artist, and there is a CD Release, there will be an extensive "CD Release Tour" (makes sense doesn't it?). So...if you're into supporting fantastic artists (and I know you are) please join the street team. We're going to need tons of help with this. If you're interested in joining the street team please pop me an email (kate@asbell-baker.com) with your name, address(street, city, state, zip) and the distance youd be willing to travel in any direction for one of Edie's shows!!

Thanks a ton guys!!!

I'm so excited Sam is coming back to NYC!! I missed her last show at The Living Room, so I'm glad I get another chance to see her before I leave NYC!!!!

Later Yall,
Kate

I gotta say what a great time I had seeing you at CATH in Indy last weekend. You were definitely a welcome surprise! I don't know the last time music moved me to tears emotionally(Rain and Sunshine)and to tears laughter-wise(When The Roses Run Dry). The line "two hobbitts living in their shire" totally cracked me up! I hope to see you in Indy again, but I might have to make the trip to Schuba's.
Take care, Michael

I was on vacation last week in Virginia Beach and was using the scanning function on the radio when all of a sudden! the familiar sound of Sam's voice! EL DORADO (the 80 Numbered Streets version)! Great to hear Sam being played in such an unexpected region of the USA! Cheers!

Great show at the Livingroom, NY....Place was packed......Next time Sam is in NY you better be there......

8O Numbered Streets is more explosive than the bombs that blew up the British department store and the Wall Street area. When l listen to it l feel like l'm floating over the East River on the Roosevelt lsland Sky Tram.

Cyrus - Tuesday, May 27th, 2003 4:40 PM
l just listened to 8O Numbered Streets. l can dig it, l can dig it, l CAN DlG lllllllT!!!!

Phil Thiegou - Tuesday, May 27th, 2003 4:37 PM
Your music is a trip, it's got a funky beat, and l can bug out to it. l sense a plethora of influences from Joni Mitchell to Marilyn Manson on 8O Numbered Streets. lt's the kind of music that makes you feel good about yourself and say that you're not going to take anyone's bullsh*t any more.

Ben & Friends.... - Friday, May 16th, 2003 6:42 PM
Hey Sam- The kids loved the show. Frank Jr and guys were on it. New stuff sounds great. Sorry we had to split. Caught most of it though. Goood luck with everything.

Phil Ord - Thursday, April 10th, 2003 12:14 PM
I'm in the UK, and would just like to say thank you for the track "Eldorado", which I heard through the excellent Paste magazine free CD. It's been my favourite of the 22 tracks, and I've just purchased Eighty Numbered Streets as a consequence of loving it, and also being swayed by Paste's enthusiastic album review.

James Scott - Wednesday, April 9th, 2003 5:50 PM
I was lucky enough to take in the two-women show you did last night with Wendy Woo in Fort Collins. I'll definitely be catching you again down in Denver ere the week is out -- what a stellar performer!

Thanks!

Saw Sam last night, at a school... it was good. Esp. when MISTER ELIMINATOR leads the night's order, it's always gutsy to stroll up onstage with nothing to hide behind but a guitar (and glittery pants) so, props.. Loved the CD too!

Britni - Tuesday, February 11th, 2003 3:41 AM
After this weekend, all I can think of are catchy taglines like "best female artist" and "new album produced by shawn mullins", "free candy". I had a dream about cocktail umbrellas.

I'll develop the pics of our spiffy "room" next week. We had the best booth on the planet, the queens of cozy we are. Take it easy, schedule sleep into your calendar!

Shirley Anderson - Friday, December 27th, 2002 5:23 PM

Just got back from Falcon Ridge Folk Festival, and listened to 80 Numbered Streets around a dozen times on my way back to Charlotte. Also played it for friends along the way, and they are all fans now!

I'm so lucky I checked out the LFNY session on Saturday morning. Rain and
Sunshine was a stunner. But El Dorado was what really moved me. (Isn't that also the name of an actual building, not just a metaphor?)

One great thing about listening to a New Yorker: there's no accent!

Looking forward to sam's southern trip.

Hi Sam!
We met in Charlotte at Jason's (LeVassuer) Hawkin's house. Congratulations on your engagement! I will be thinking of you on OUR wedding day, Sept. 21, 2002. It must mean we are cosmically connected since we have the same wedding date. Thanks for dedicating the "honeymoon" song to us on Saturday. Sorry I didn't get to say goodbye, but I was asleep in the van and no one woke me. PS what is the real name of the honeymoon song?
Jessica

Chris Gregory (beachbumcg@excite.com) November 27, 2001

hey Sam, I got the extreme priveledge to see you perform at eddie's over thanksgiving weekend and I just wanted to say that it was awesome. Its really cool to know that true singer songwriters do exist and are making it in the tough world of music. Keep on rockin hope to catch another show soon

hey sAm! just wanted to pass along a suggestion about what to include on your album. In your song "El Dorado" i noticed when you've been playing it recently, at one part in the chorus i think in the last round you mute the strings and just strum a good bit...well I LOVE, LOVE THAT PART, MY FAVE! i noticed on your sam*pler its not like that..and thought it would be cool to do it like that on the album..if its included! :)

hmm also..if your still taking suggestions here is something neat to add to the album and fans always love it! like inbetween 3 songs or at the end of the record add soundbites of you rehearsing or randomly talking while you were working hard in the studio..those are always so good to hear! take care and we'll hang with ya again soon in hotlanta :)>>

Sam, I'm your new fan in Cleveland, OH. Saw you at the Barking Spider not too long ago. I was listening to the CD and had a question.....what's the story behind Rain and Sunshine? If you'd rather not get into it I understand. That's one of my favorite songs on the CD and I thought knowing the true meaning behind the lyrics would make it even better. Hope to see you again in Cleveland soon!!!

Bri! "The Supaahh Staahh" (fueling@hotmail.com ) August 17, 2001

Kenny Cooper is a deep undercover special agent sent to infiltrate our "Rock Staahh" imaginations. We, the lowly folky fewtards.

Here's a question for like minded guitar players; How is stage fright overcome? Any tips on how to go from the livingroom amphitheater rockshows for one, to the bar fly infested open mic type of publicity jam? Hmmmm, We who learn to play, eventually get to the point that we want to share that "special jam" we find. - even if it is like boysenberrY!!!

Thanks Sam, for the Music and Words

Sam ... I just saw you at the Univ. of Wisc. Memorial Union Terrace tonight. Great show from a great talent. You're going to blow the windows out the music world any day now. And I'll be able to say I saw you before you hit it big! :o) Plus I can just pull out the autographed CD to prove it!! :o) Thanks for the great show!

Music Amongst the Fallout House Concerts (info@voyuz.net) May 14, 2001

Music Amongst the Fallout just wants to say again how much we appreciated Sam flying out to California and giving a great performance at the fallout shelter. Considering jet lag, a three hour time differential and temperatures nearly hitting 80F; Sam did and outstanding job of entertaining an audience of mostly newbies. She even inspired one 8 year old girl to become a folk singer! Thanks again Sam!

Well, just realized that Sam is a lady, not a guy.. :) Feel bad I missed her show when she was close by, but all can bet I will not miss another opportunity to hear this fantasic artist when SHE passes thru the area again. Great music from what I can hear here on the site, can't wait to hear her live!

(ann_delsehed@hotmail.com) May 5, 2001

Yes, your music has spread all the way to Sweden, thanks to Niclas... via Ann's recommendation to see the grand Josh Ritter (in Boston). So, when will you be touring Sweden (or Ireland, with Josh...)? Paitently awaiting your arrival...

Tom (tomring@hotmail.com) April 25, 2001

Found you through your article in the recent book "Songwriting And The Guitar". Thank you for inspiring me and pushing me to write better lyrics! It is the hardest thing for me to do as a musician and writer... ridding myself of cliches! I just had a chance to listen to "Honey"... what a powerful and vivid song! Thanks for sharing your insights with us and let me know when you'll be performing in Southern California.

Sincerely, Tom

love this CD! (perfect)

(Boi@yahoo.com) January 16, 2001

Hey! I found Sam on a website called Auralgasms! This site is a bunch of alternative type bands I've never heard of, but they have a nice selection of folk, some of it new to me! Pretty cool! The thing is, thay have it set up so you can rate the artsits and leave comments about the artists based on the 30 second sound clips they have for sampling (no pun intended!) And only four people (including me!) have rated her. I think the other two are the guys who run hte site! So everyone who visits this board please go to http://www.auralgasms.com, find Sam in the folk section and give her a high rating! And leave some good comments!
